Lowest Fees Around



SimpleRegistry is 100% free for you to set up and use. We keep the website (and lights!) up and running by charging a small fee based on the amount of each gift. Here's how it breaks down:
  • Service Fee (3.5% of gift value): This covers the hosting, features and services of your registry, twenty-four hour email support, and weekday phone support (for you or friends or family who wish to purchase gifts over the phone). Or, for an optional, one-time payment of $35.00, this fee can be eliminated for the life of your account. Use the same account for different types of registries over time.
  • Transaction Fee (3.5%): This covers payment processing and is roughly equivalent to the costs we pay to our providers (unfortunately, accepting credit cards on the Internet costs money – believe us, we tried to get out of it). While there's no getting around this one, you can choose to pay this fee yourself (out of the gift value) OR have it added to the total when your guests check out. It's up to you!

For perspective, most couples request that gifts purchased from a physical store's registry be sent to their home. If you included the shipping and handling fee, gift-wrapping fee, and sales tax associated with the purchase of the gift, this usually totals more than 12% of the gift's value. In almost all cases, guests will find it less expensive to use SimpleRegistry than to purchase item(s) at a physical store.
